A dramatic reading, "Divided: Mary Lincoln & Emilie Todd Helm," featuring the author, Valerie Gugala as Mrs. Lincoln, will be performed at 7pm, Saturday, Sept. 12, in Trahern Theatre. The dialog is based on letters between Mary Lincoln and her half-sister, Emilie Todd Helm, who was married to a Confederate officer killed during the Civil War. The event is free and will be followed by a reception.

Weekly volunteer opportunities are listed on our website for students to try out volunteering with a specific organization. We do the leg work and schedule volunteer times for you; you just sign up with us and then go volunteer!

Starting September 13th the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center will be offering a new Aerial Fitness Class. This class is a 4-week program, meeting Sundays from 4-5pm and Fridays from 4:45-5:45pm. The class will be capped at 12 people. Dates are Sept.13-Oct.6 & Oct.25-Nov.17. Prices are Students: $15, Affiliates:$20, & Community Patrons:$25, for each 4-week program.
UREC & the Physics Department will host the 2nd Annual Water Balloon Battleship, Friday, Sept. 11, 5 -8 pm, at McGregor Park/Riverfest. Teams will compete to hit targets using water balloon launchers. Water balloon launchers will be provided, but teams are welcome to build their own launchers based on mechanical principals. This is a free event and registration will take place at the event.
Jr. Govs Casual Care will be offered at the Foy Monday through Friday from 4pm to 8 pm; starting Aug 24th. The cost is $5.00, per child, for 90 minutes of time. Your child can bring their homework and snacks and we will provide other activities. Please visit our front desk for registration form.
