Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run

Austin Peay State University’s Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run will be hosted on Saturday, October 27^th, 2012 at 8 a.m. at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.  Proceeds benefit athletic scholarships here at APSU for deserving students.

Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill

High on a windy hill, overlooking the confluence of the Red and Cumberland rivers, stands Emerald Hill, home of Austin Peay State University’s National Alumni Association and this year’s start and finish for the Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run. Listed in the National Register of Historic Sites, the history of this antebellum mansion is as rich as the traditions of the University. As runners come to conquer Emerald Hill they will embark on a journey of accomplishment as they endure the winding course to the top. Truly, the name given by Gustavus A. Henry was appropriate. It was and still is an Emerald Hill. Let the race begin...

Race Day: Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill (751 N. Second St.)

5k Course (Certified USATF No. TN12036MS)

Start and finish at Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill. Course runs through APSU campus. See map for full course.

Fun Run Course

Participants will start and finish at the same locations as the 5k road race (see 5k map).  Instead of turning left onto 2^nd street, participants will turn around and run back up Emerald Hill to the front of the Alumni Center, proceed past the Alumni Center to Robb St., where they will again turn around and run back towards the start line.  They will then go past the start line and run to the right of the Pace Alumni Center and follow the circle drive around and finish in the front of the building where the 5k run will end (see 5k map).

5K Awards

Cash awards to overall first-, second- and third-place male and female winners ($150, $100, $75) and to masters (40 & over) male and female winners ($75).

Medals awarded to first-, second- and third-place male and female age group winners.

Additional prizes will be awarded to the first-place male and female winners in these categories: APSU alumnus/a, APSU faculty/staff, APSU student (must indicate on entry form to be eligible).

NOTE: Participants may only qualify for one cash award.

Door Prizes

Drawing for door prizes will be held immediately after the presentation of the awards.

Age Groups

13 & younger, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & older.

Sponsors

There are various levels of sponsorship for the Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run. Size and placement of logos on t-shirts and printed materials are based on sponsorship level.

Platinum Level: $1,000 and above

One Color Name/Logo on the back of the race t-shirt, website, and banner at start and finish line

Distribute flyers/coupons provided by company included in the gift bags given to all registered participants

Entry for 6 guests in the 5K Run

May set-up a table of information at the event

Gold Level: $500 and above

One Color Name/Logo on the back of the race t-shirt and on website

Distribute flyers/coupons provided by company included in the gift bags given to all registered participants

Entry for 4 guests in the 5K Run

May set-up a table of information at the event

Silver Level: $250 and above

One Color Name/Logo on the back of the race t-shirt and on website

Distribute flyers/coupons provided by company included in the gift bags given to all registered participants

Entry for 2 guests in the 5K Run

May set-up a table of information at the event

Bronze Level: $100 and above

One Color Name/Logo on the back of the race t-shirt and on website

Distribute flyers/coupons provided by company included in the gift bags given to all registered participants.   

Your contribution should be made payable to Austin Peay State University and is tax deductible.  Commitments should be paid in full by the end of October, 2012.  Commitments may be paid in multiple payments or one lump sum.
