Admission Process
-
You will receive an
acknowledgment that we have received your application.
-
You will then be
notified of required documents needed to process your application. Refer to the
checklist on
The Application Process (i.e., First-Time
Freshman) to make sure you forwarded the necessary documents.
-
After all documents are
received and the application has been processed, you
will be notified of the admission decision.
-
Written formal appeals
of the University’s admission decision may be filed
with the Office of Admissions for consideration by
the University Admission and Standards Committee.
The admission decision is based upon a student’s
likelihood of success at Austin Peay.
All decisions of the
committee are final. Students who are
denied are encouraged to attend a community college
and re-apply for admission as a transfer student.
-
All transfer and readmitted
students who do not meet admission requirements may
appeal to the Committee on Admission Standards by
submitting a transfer appeal form. All
decisions of the committee are final.
Students who are denied are encouraged to return to
their previous institution or attend a community
college to improve their GPA and re-apply at another
time. It is suggested that students re-take
courses in which they performed poorly the first
time in order to improve their GPA.
Scholarships
-
APSU awards scholarships on the basis of
academic achievement, talents and special skills. Most are
renewable, provided you maintain your academic standing.
A variety of scholarships are available, and most have a
priority deadline ranging from Feb. 1 - April 1. For specific
information

Financial
Aid
-
Most federal and state financial aid is
awarded on the basis of proven financial need. Such aid may take the form of grants
(funds that do not require repayment), loans (usually available at a low interest rates
and repayment after the student leaves school) and part-time employment (either on campus
or in the community).
It is each student's responsibility to secure financial aid packets from a high school
counselor in ample time to complete the forms and ensure they are received in the
Financial Aid Office. The priority deadline is April 1.
