Housing and Residence Life

   Q:  Have you applied for housing?

• Acceptance to Austin Peay State University does not guarantee housing.  Housing arrangements must be made directly through the Office of Housing and Residence Life.  Austin Peay State University offers various options for living on campus.  For example, there are apartments, outside corridor-style residence halls, enclosed hall buildings and family apartments.  For housing arrangements, contact Housing and Residence Life at (931) 221-7444 or fax (931) 221-7165 located in Miller Hall 121 or at APSU P.O. Immunization

    Q:  Did you get all your shots?

All international students are required to submit proof or record of immunization against measles and a negative TB (tuberculosis) test with the the last year.  Those without proof are required to receive a measles shot and the TB test.   The charge for this service is the responsibility of the student.  Contact Health Services at (931) 221-7107 in Ellington 104 or APSU P.O. Health Insurance

• International students must provide proof of health insurance or purchase it through the university.

Travel and Transportation

    Q:  Do you know at which airport you should arrive?

• From your country to the USA, the closest airport to Austin Peay State University is Nashville International Airport.  Therefore, you should make arrangements to fly into Nashville International Airport as your final destination.   To get from the airport to Clarksville, Nashville International Airport is approximately 55 miles away.  Bus service from the airport to Clarksville is available through Jarmon Limousine Services (615) 275-0146.  Please contact Jarmon Limousine directly for airport transportation arrangements.  Bus and limousine services are located at the bottom floor of the airport (just below the baggage claim area).  Be sure to have the airport bus drop you off at the Holiday Inn at Exit 4 on Interstate 24-W in Clarksville.  You must arrange for transportation from the Holiday Inn to APSU.

Public Telephone Use

    Q:  Do you know how to use the public phones in the USA?

• To use a public phone, you must have ample amount of change or a credit card number to place calls.  Collect calls also are available through public phones.  Dial 0 for operator assistance, or follow the directions posted on the pay phone.
