Writing Center Tutoring

Writing Center

The Writing Center is located in the Felix G. Woodward Library

We are on the main floor of the Library past the Research Assistance Desk.

The Academic Support Center provides FREE writing support to APSU students by employing tutors who have earned at least a 3.0 GPA and faculty recommendation to serve in the Writing Center. Tutors work one-on-one with students on any paper for any class.

Appointments

Students may schedule an appointment with the Writing Center using STARS. (Instructions for scheduling appointments)

If you need assistance scheduling an appointment, please call the Academic Support Center at (931) 221-6550.

In order to provide the service our students have come to expect, the Writing Center does not have a phone. This allows the staff to focus on students they are currently serving.

Walk-Ins

Walk-in requests for assistance are always welcome. During the semester, the Writing Center is open seven days a week. (Note: we close for holidays but we are open for spring and fall break)

Online Assistance

Submit your paper for online review.
Our goal is to provide you with a response within 24 hours. During peak periods, responses may take longer. After the third week of the semester, it is best to submit papers for review at least 48 hours before the due date in order to allow sufficient time for us to provide a response and for you to make any corrections. If you have multiple papers that need to be reviewed, send each in a separately so no paper is inadvertently overlooked.
