We are on the main floor of the Library past the Research Assistance Desk.
The Academic Support Center provides FREE writing support to APSU undergraduate and graduate students by employing tutors who have earned at least a 3.0 GPA and were recommended by faculty to serve in the Writing Center. Tutors work one-on-one with students for all written work regardless of formatting or citing styles. In addition, tutors can help students with interpreting their assignment instructions, conducting research for reliable sources, brainstorming and organizing ideas, preventing plagiarism, and reviewing their progress throughout the writing process.
If you need assistance with scheduling an appointment, please call the Academic Support Center at (931) 221-6550. You can also go to the Writing Center, and a Lab Attendant or one of the tutors can book your appointment.
We are sorry; but in order to provide the service our students have come to expect, the Writing Center does not have a phone. Tutors can therefore focus on helping students they are currently serving without disruption.
Walk-in requests for assistance are always welcome. During the semester, the Writing Center is open seven days a week. (Note: we close for most holidays, but we are open for spring and fall break, winter break, and during the summer in varying degrees of providing writing support.)

Our goal is to provide you with a response within 24 hours. However, during peak periods, responses may take longer. After the third week of the semester on the downtown campus, and perhaps after the second week for classes at Fort Campbell, we recommend papers be submitted for review at least 48-60 hours before the due date in order to allow sufficient time for us to provide a response and for you to make any corrections. If you want to send multiple papers that need to be reviewed, please send each as a separate submission so no paper will be inadvertently overlooked.
