Writing Center

The Writing Center is located in the Felix G. Woodward Library

We are on the main floor of the Library, just past the Research Assistance Desk.

The Academic Support Center provides FREE writing support to APSU students by employing  tutors who have at least a 3.0 GPA and the faculty recommendation to serve in the Writing Center. Tutors work one-on-one with students on any paper for any class.

Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment to visit the Writing Lab. Appointments have priority over other students.

Request to be scheduled with a tutor.

Walk-Ins

Walk-in requests for assistance are always welcome. During the semester, the Writing Center is open seven days a week. (Note: we do close when classes are not in session.)

E-Mail Help

Submit your paper for online review.

Students may also e-mail requests to writinglab@apsu.edu to receive help by e-mail. The Writing Lab strives to answer all e-mail submissions within 24 hours. Students should submit papers for online assistance at least 48 hours prior to the due date in order to allow time for feedback from the tutor and time to make corrections. Papers submitted for online assistance must either be in MS Word or RTF format.

Include the following information in your request for online assistance:

• Assignment instructions
• Course
• Instructor
• Due date
• APSU email address

Feedback will be sent to the APSU e-mail account.

Please only submit one paper per email. If you have multiple papers which need to be reviewed, send each in a separate email so that we may serve you better.
