Fall 2013 Training

Training for student workers who are employed as Tutors, SLA Leaders, or Lab Attendants is scheduled for 19 August 2013. Training for SLA Leaders will continue on 21 August 2013. The training will be conducted using a conference format, allowing students some choice in the sessions they attend (Note: Some students, due to their specific position or time employed have very limited choices.) Please take time to review the schedule and select the sessions you will attend.

Following the location for each session is a note about the training level and intended audience. The following key  should help you understand the note section.

Level applies to tutors only. It refers to the training level of the topic. Tutors attend sessions at or below the level they are seeking.

1: Regular

2: Advanced

3: Master

Required for...Indicates that all people who meet the description provided must attend the session.
Required sessionUsed for tutors only. Indicates that the session is a required topic for the level indicated. Tutors seeking the indicated level must have either taken the session previously or take it at this training event.
OptionalIndicates the session is of value for the training level. It will help fill the training requirements, but it is not a mandatory session.

August 19th

First Session: (8:00-8:25)       Opening Remarks, UC Ballroom A/B (level 1, required for all employees)

Peer Mentors are finished with their training at 3:30. They are welcome to attend subsequent sessions, but it is not required.

August 21st

Training on the 21st is for SLA Leaders only.
