| "The Human Experience" Screenings Synopsis: From Grassroots Films of Brooklyn, New York comes THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE – the story of a band of brothers who travel the world in search of the answers to the burning questions: Who am I? Who is Man? Why do we search for meaning? Their journey brings them into the middle of the lives of the homeless on the streets of New York City, the orphans and disabled children of Peru, and the abandoned lepers in the forests of Ghana, Africa. What the young men discover changes them forever. | National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Programming. National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is an HIV/AIDS testing and treatment community mobilization initiative targeting Black communities. Each year, community stakeholders locally, nationally and internationally plan events and/or activities focused on raising awareness about HIV and getting individuals tested. The Wilbur N. | Standing-In-Truth: Breaking the Silence Documentary Synopsis: A first of its kind documentary,Standing-n-Truth: Breaking the Silence weaves the personal narrative of African American men, women and children in the face of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, transcending differences of sexuality, class, and gender. The voice of one man (Tim Daniels) allows others, who have been silenced, ostracized, and discouraged, to reflect on their own personal stories, while emphatically and empathetically constructing and integrating strategies for reducing individual and collective stigma. An array of the following popular-opinion leaders share intimate experiences of stigma, shame, and silence: David Malebranche, MD, MPH, Beny J. Primm, MD, Gail E. Wyatt, PhD, Vickie M.
