Program Overview

Through this Spanish immersion program, you will learn about Spanish language and Mexican culture while studying at the University of Guanajuato in the beautiful and historic city of Guanajuato, Mexico. You will use your developing Spanish language skills during the daytime classes and at night with your Mexican host family. The program coordinator will organize cultural excursions during which you can tour the beautiful country of Mexico.

SPAN 304A: Study Abroad - Mexico

General Itinerary:

From Nashville International Airport, we will fly to Guanajuato, Mexico, where you will meet your host family. You will take classes during the day and participate in two weekend excursions. The itinerary is tentative and subject to change.

Lodging and Meals:

You will reside with a carefully selected Mexican host family. Three meals per day will be provided in the home.

Cost:

Level1* includes the round-trip flight from Nashville to Guanajuato, airport transfer, courses at the University of Guanajuato, lodging and meals, travel insurance, two weekend excursions, administrative and personnel fees

*Price is based upon the estimated cost of the program and grouped into levels. Level 1 - $2k-3k; Level 2 - $3k-4k; Level 3 - $4k-5k; Level 4 - $5k-6k; Level 5 - $6k-7k. Prices are subject to change due to increase in airfare, fluctuation of currency exchange and changes in tuition and fee rates. Estimated cost may not include airfare, APSU tuition, or health coverage unless specified. You should also budget funds for personal expenses based upon your spending habits.

Financial Aid:

Your current scholarships and financial aid may apply toward the cost of the program. Call the Office of Student Financial Aid at (931) 221-7907 to schedule an appointment with financial aid counselor, Cathy Naef. Payment Schedule and Deadlines:

  •  Submit your application by Feb. 15.
  •  Register for SPAN 304A during registration for APSU summer classes.
  •  Submit a non-refundable deposit by Feb. 15.
  •  Make your first payment by April 1.
  •  Submit your final payment by May 1.
