Installing Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition

1. You do not need to complete this procedure if Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition is already installed.  You can check by following this procedure.

2. Uninstall Norton AntiVirus 2000, LiveAdvisor and LiveUpdate1.6

3. Reboot the computer

4. Open an internet browser and navigate to http://www.apsu.edu/helpdesk/nav/nav.htm

5. Fill in the information requested.
   A. Select Building - Please select which building you are installing the product in.
   B.  APSU TAG - Every computer has a blue and silver, "Property of Austin Peay State University" tag located somewhere on it.  Please type the number associated with this tag in this field.
   C. Computer Name - Name associated with each computer.  Click here for an in-depth explanation.
   D. Product - Select Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition

6. After Submitting the form, you will be taken to a web page that lists the buildings which are ready to have Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition Installed.  Click on your current location to begin the installation process.

7. More than likely, you will receive notice that an "Authenticode can not be verified.  Would you like to continue?".  Please answer "Yes".

8. The installer begins by checking your system for necessary software and disk space. 
   If you receive a message which states that you must reinstall or upgrade Windows because your Windows Installer is out of date, please note that you need only reboot your system to fix this error.  This error is actually a misstatement, in that the program automatically updates your Windows Installer, but it does not reboot your system.  You have to manually reboot in order to initiate the changes.

9. Please follow these instructions for the next Norton Antivirus installation prompts:
   A.  Verify you want to install the product by clicking the Next button.
   B.  Choose I Accept The Licensing Agreement.
   C.  For the 'Mail Snap-In Selection' and the 'Destination Folder' prompts, accept the defaults by clicking Next until the program begins its installation.
   D.  On the last screen, click the Install button to begin the installation.

10. After Installation completes, press the Finish button.  You will be prompted to reboot the system, choose Yes.

At this point you have completed the installation of Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition.  Thank you so much for participating!
