Welcome to the
Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center
Celebrating African American Expressive Culture
The
Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center was
founded in 1991 as an integral part of the University, dedicated to providing theoretical
and practical knowledge about the historic and contemporary contributions, achievements
and social perspectives of African Americans and other people of African descent.
In 2007
the Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center
will be promoting events that represent African American
expressive culture. Through the arts which
include musical traditions, dance, visual arts, spoken
word and writing,
African Americans have presented their culture and
history. This year the Wilbur N. Daniel African
American Cultural Center will explore all facets of
African American life and the far reaching global
connections that African Americans have.
