Our programs prepare people in the region for employment opportunities with industrial employers. Likewise, we serve these employers both by preparing graduates for initial employment and by offering educational opportunities for current employees needed for advancement.

Engineering Technology

The Engineering Technology Department offers undergraduate degrees in Engineering Technology, including a Bachelor of Science (BS) in four concentrations: Electrical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, and Mechatronics. Three of these concentrations—Electrical, Manufacturing, and Mechanical—are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org). Our program uniquely combines a technological major with Austin Peay's liberal arts core, which helps students develop communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and values for responsible living.

In addition to our Bachelor's degree programs, we offer an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology. We also provide a minor in Engineering Technology, which is highly recommended for students in Business, Technical Writing, and other fields where graduates may enter technical industries.

Our courses are available at both the APSU Clarksville (downtown) campus and the Ft. Campbell campus on Ft. Campbell Army Base. To accommodate working students, we offer both daytime and evening classes. We also encourage students to pursue internships or job opportunities in the industry to gain practical experience while completing their degrees.

Department Mission

The Engineering Technology Department motivates students to think creatively, to acquire analytical  and technical skills and to excel through its excellent teaching and service in an innovative learning environment.

The Engineering Technology program provides a seamless transition for students that have completed associate degree requirements to a baccalaureate degree in engineering technology.  A major part of our mission is to serve the military community at Ft. Campbell with programs that meet the needs and interests of military personnel, family, retirees and civilians from the community.
